Housing and student life in the Philippines

Rooms inside the academy building or right next to it. The advantage: no commute, class a few minutes after you wake up, and meals and services in the same place.

The trade-off: less private space and firmer house rules — from quiet hours to curfews.

An apartment or nearby hotel, arranged by the academy or by you. The advantage: independence, space, and freedom over food and hours.

The trade-off: a daily commute, separate costs, and more responsibility for organising your own day.

A single room is quieter, better for studying late and for anyone who needs privacy.

A shared room — double, triple or quad — costs less and puts you in English outside the classroom too. That is a real reason people choose it, not just a saving.

The room types each academy states are in the table below and on its own page.

Many academies include daily meals in the accommodation. If you have a dietary requirement — halal, a medical diet, an allergy — tell us during the consultation so we can ask the academy before booking rather than after.

Laundry and room cleaning are common; how often each happens varies. These details seem small when you book and matter a lot by week three.

Some academies set curfews or an English-only policy on campus. Neither is good or bad in itself — but each suits some people and not others.

Where an academy states a rule like this, we record it on its page with the source.
