Two ways to study in Malaysia

  • Start with English

Many universities run their own English program for international students who have not yet reached the level their degree asks for. You study English first, then move on to your degree.

  • Go straight to university

Diploma, bachelor's, master's and doctoral programs. Depending on your school certificate, the university may ask you to complete a foundation year before your bachelor's.

What each one offers, as published on its official website. Fees and intakes change, so we confirm them with the university when you ask.

How applying to a Malaysian university works

The general route. Each university sets its own requirements and dates.

What do you need from me to start?

Your goal (the subject and the level), your latest certificate with its transcript, your passport, and an English test result if you have one. From that, we shortlist universities whose published entry requirements fit you.

Do I need IELTS or TOEFL?

Programs taught in English usually ask for an English test score, and each university sets its own minimum. If you do not have one yet, many universities let you take their own English program first.

What is a foundation year?

A preparatory program, usually about a year long, that some students take after secondary school before starting a bachelor's degree. Whether you need one depends on your certificate and on the university.

How do you help with my application?

We prepare your file with you, help you apply and follow your application until the university replies.

How does the student visa work?

Once you accept an offer, the university applies for your student pass through Education Malaysia Global Services (EMGS), the official service for international students, and tells you which documents to send. We help you prepare them.

Why are there no fees on this page?

Fees differ by program and intake, and they change every year. Rather than print a figure that may be out of date, we get it from the university when you ask and show you where it comes from.
